Exquisite Ceramics Collection from Jiangxi Provincial Museum
  The ceramic techniques have a very long history in Jiangxi province. In the early Neolithic Age, the primitive people of Xianren Cave in Wannian County had fired proto-pottery, which is one of the most ancient pottery have been found. In Shang and Zhou Dynasties, besides all kinds of geometrical design-stamped hard pottery, proto-celadon began to fire and being the earliest ancestor of modern porcelain. The fire techniques of proto-celadon made further promotion in the Warring State Period. The porcelain appearance have been divorced from primeval state and the mature porcelain emerged in Han and Jin Dynasties. From Tang Dynasty, there is a forest of kilns scattered across Jiangxi province, especially the well-known Hongzhou kiln of Fengcheng City, which is one of the six famous celadon kilns in China. After Song Dynasty, a lot of famous kilns emerged, such as baise kiln in Nanfeng City, Jizhou kiln in Jizhou City and Qilizhen kiln in Ganzhou City. Especially, the ceramic production of Jingdezhen City appeared the unprecedented new situation regardless the fire scale, technical skills and the product quantities, the porcelain industry made the graveness progress and outstanding achieve in Yuan Dynasty. "Fouliang Porcelain Bureau" set up in the early Yuan Dynasty was the only porcelain management organization in the country at that time, and Jingdezhen City had become the porcelain center of the country. The porcelain industry of Jingdezhen was also flourishing in Ming and Qing Dynasties, it represents the tallest level of Chinese ancient porcelain fire techniques, especially in Kangxi, yongzheng, qianlong regins of Qing Dynasty, the wares have good quality, diverse figure, colorful glaze and abundant decorations, which enjoy Jingdezhen fleeting fame in the time.
