Relics from Cliff Tomb of Dragon and Tiger Montain
The famous Dragon and Tiger Mountain is named after the figure of the mountain and locates 20km to the southern suburbs of Yingtan City, it is the birthplace of Taoism. The first chapter of the Chinese classic "All Men Are Brothers" "priest zhang prayed against the god of plague, Marshall Hong talk about the demons" provided us with a most vivid description of this scenery: "Hundreds of peaks compete their beauty, while thousands of streams meander through them. The waterfalls pour down from frightful height while creepers hang down from every cliff." To the northwest of Dragon and Tiger Mountain is the Celestial Water Rock Sightseeing Spot, the peculiar hills and fantastic rocks standing here and there, hundreds of variety natural caves are concentrated distributed in the cliffs, the wood coffin were placed in the most of the caves, that is the ancient coffin hanging bury custom.
Coffin hanging bury custom is a kind of ancient and special custom in southern region of our country, it left us some historic riddle "which race did this custom belong to ?" "How huge coffin wood was hung to the hole in the cliff?" Archaeology workmen have been checked up the hanging coffins here for two times, a large quantity of relics has been excavated.
